Lily reaches out to share her love of musicals through her new blog and microcast

World Theatre Day is an annual event that highlights the importance of theatre - whether on a world scale or personally in our daily lives. To celebrate it, I reached out to just over half a century of musical lovers and supporters to tell them about I Heart Musicals.

I Heart Musicals is my exploration of a century of musical theatre. Since the beginning of the year, I have been sharing my love for musicals on my new blog and episodes of my musical microcast. I have featured 3 decades so far shining a spotlight on my favourite shows and songs from them.

Over the last 2 years of pandemic, the theatre world as we know it has been blown apart. Theatres dark for the first time since WWII, shows unable to continue due to cast absence, or cancelled for lack of funds, audiences reluctant to attend for fear of infection. With musicals made inaccessible for many over this time, I am on a mission to share my love of them as an art form and to celebrate the magic they bring to our lives. I want to encourage everyone to find out more about musicals past and present and bring them alive for a new generation of musical lovers to enjoy.
