'Lily Casson is an outstanding singer...
a young performer to watch, at future fringes and beyond.'
This year, Lily has been working with English Cabaret on telling the story of David Maxwell Fyfe, her great grandfather. 2020 marks two significant anniversaries - 75 years since the Nuremberg Trials and 70 years since the signing of the European Convention on Human Rights. Dreams of Peace & Freedom : The Human's in the Telling tells the story of his journey from Nuremberg where he was a chief prosecutor to Strasbourg where he was part of the team who drafted the ECHR.
Welcome to my World of Musicals!
Lily has contributed to telling the story in many forms with Sue Casson's songcycle at its heart - a filmed recording, podcast and scrapbook. Find out about each of these components below!
You can see Lily in performance on 23rd December at Bar Topolski on the Southbank for the launch of 'The Human's in the Telling.'
"From a young age, I have been in awe of the magic of musicals. Growing up in a theatrical family, I was lucky to experience musicals from both sides of the curtain - creating the magic for audiences and enjoying the magic of watching them for myself.
Everything about musicals and theatre excites me. From the first drum roll of the overture,it is an escape to a world of bright lights, beautiful costumes, emotional stories and soaring scores.
As the jukebox musicals grows in popularity, the golden age of musical theatre hangs in the balance. I Heart Musicals celebrates the shows that have made me who I am and recreate the magic I felt when I saw them for the first time."
